Irrespective of One’s Background as Being Rich or Poor, Noble or Humble, Everyone Must Abide by the Law of Causality
When it comes to abiding by the law of causality, from grand masters, Living Buddhas and Khenpos right down to the lowliest street-peddlers, itinerant servants, the stricter and more observant one is, the better.
There’s no need to even go so far as to talk about or wait until the eventual consequence of retributive justice to happen in the distant future; at that very moment when we engage in a sinful deed that’s motivated by the three-poisons, almost right away, we experience a sense of unease followed by guilt, which ultimately leaves us feeling miserable.
The law of causality takes immediate effect as evidenced by the mere release of our emotional agony. And this is but a very vivid example of how quickly retributive justice can take place.
In conclusion, if we wish our body and soul to be free from suffering, I beg you all to not engage in sinful deeds.
