Recently, a lot of people are clinging to the idea of Guru Rinpoche as “a sign of a Buddha”, while considering themselves as the “sign of ordinary beings;” then they do various offerings and praises to Guru Rinpoche.
Not only this, but there are also many people on the internet who are making boisterous noise, promoting themselves while denigrating others. However, are these behaviors truly the intent of the Ocean Born?
I think that, within the conviction that our basic awareness itself is indivisible from Guru Rinpoche, and the firm resolution that this awareness within ourselves has never been conditioned and will never dissipate, it is fine to pray, do offerings and praises, or simply remember him. It’ll all be fine.
In this way, while keeping Buddha in your mind without attachment to signs, you can still live a free and dashing life. Isn’t that pretty nice?
