Praises on Bodhicitta 46 – 50
(46)
As soon as one aroused Bodhicitta,
His ātma-grāha (urge for ego-grasping) will be eradicated;
As long as one practices with diligence the Bodhisattva’s way to benefit and bring joy to
sentient beings,
He ought to attain Buddhahood.
(47)
It takes three asaṃkhyeyas (the great eons) for a Bodhisattva to attain the ultimate Buddhahood,
just as it takes multiple processes to extract the finest cream from milk.
For the most sacred and extraordinary Bodhicitta,
one must practice with zeal and diligence.
(48)
Conceal others’ evil deeds,
Propagate all virtuous conducts,
Pray for all sentient beings to be liberated from sufferings and obtain happiness,
These are the key essentials of Bodhicitta.
(49)
When experiencing anxiety or sorrow, remember Bodhicitta;
When experiencing happiness or bliss, remember Bodhicitta;
When experiencing aging or sickness, remember Bodhicitta;
When passing on to the next life, remember Bodhicitta.
(50)
Such rare and extraordinary Bodhicitta,
Had never existed in the mundane world;
Such rare and extraordinary Bodhicitta,
Could not be found even in the two supra-mundane vehicles of Sāvaka and Pratyeka-Buddha.
