Learning and Contemplating Do Not Require You to Be in a Buddhist Institute
There are many rumors believing that if you want to learn and contemplate Buddha Dharma, you must study in a Buddhist institute; however, this is far from the truth, because even when you have just learned to chant a Buddha’s name, naturally, you would have also gone through the stages of learning and contemplating.
As an example: say you hear from a dharma master mentioning that it is good to chant Buddha’s name—this is learning.
You will then think about what the merits and benefits are in this particular Buddha’s name—this is contemplating.
Once you know the merits and benefits, you begin chanting Buddha’s name in earnest—this is practicing.
So learning and contemplating do not happen solely in Buddhist institutes. This is a very important point. Please give it some thought.
