Meat-Eating is an Act of Bullying
Are we allowed to eat meat? We shouldn’t be asking the people doing the eating; we should be asking those who are eaten whether they agree or not. If they are willing to sacrifice their lives, then we are always allowed to eat meat… but if they don’t agree, then meat-eating is unreasonable.
It’s useless to ask the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, scripture, or the great masters — meat-eating is an act of bullying. There’s no need to dig for theoretical justifications either. Just think about it quietly, and the answer should be clear.
