Recently, many people cling to the notion of regarding Guru Rinpoche as “Buddha appearance”, while considering themselves as the “appearance of ordinary beings”. Then they do many offerings and praises to Guru Rinpoche.
Not only this, but on the internet there are also many people who are making boisterous noise, promoting themselves while denigrating others. However, are such behaviors the true intent of Tsokye Dorje ?
I think that, within the conviction that our basic awareness is indivisible from Guru Rinpoche, and the firm resolution that this awareness has never been conditioned and is indivisible from ourselves, it is fine to pray, to do offerings and praises, or to simply remember him. It’ll all be fine.
In this way, while keeping Buddha in your mind without attachements to appearances, you can live a free and dashing life. Isn’t that pretty nice?
